MEDTEQ+ and CIMVHR Announce a Strategic Partnership to<\/span><\/b> Connect Health and AgeTech Innovations with<\/span><\/b> Military and Veteran Health Research<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

A new pan-Canadian collaboration connects research on the health and well-being of Canadian military personnel, veterans, and their families with technology companies, funding and real-world implementation partners<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA, October 20, 2026<\/span><\/b> \u2014 MEDTEQ+, through the envisAGE initiative co-led with AGE-WELL, and the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research (CIMVHR), announced today a new strategic partnership to connect military and Veteran health research with technological innovation, industry expertise and implementation opportunities across Canada.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The partners will support researchers, technology companies and community organizations to identify and advance promising solutions that will address the evolving health and well-being needs of Veterans, military personnel, their families and caregivers from coast to coast.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u201cHealthcare innovations have the greatest potential for impact when they address specific needs and are developed with consideration of the perspectives of the people and organizations they are intended to serve.\u201d said Nicholas Held, Scientific Director of the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research (CIMVHR)\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cBy connecting CIMVHR\u2019s national military and Veteran health research network with envisAGE\u2019s collaborative innovation ecosystem, we can explore new opportunities to bring research, technology and practical experience together to improve health and well-being.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Within envisAGE, MEDTEQ+ and AGE-WELL connect health technologies enterprises with researchers, partners and real-world environments to support healthy aging, independence and quality of life. CIMVHR brings together researchers and organizations dedicated to the health and well-being of Canadian military personnel, Veterans and their families. Solutions designed for older adults and caregivers may also benefit Veterans, while military and Veteran health research can contribute to the development and evaluation of technologies intended to address evolving health and care needs.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u201cThrough envisAGE, MEDTEQ+ and AGE-WELL have built a pan-Canadian network that helps Canadian SMEs validate their technologies in real-world settings and bring them to the people who need them. Partnering with CIMVHR extends that network to the military and Veteran health community, opening new applications for Canadian innovations and new pathways toward adoption,\u201d said Annie-Kim Gilbert, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of MEDTEQ+.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

A New Pathway Through the Call for Innovations<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The collaboration builds on envisAGE’s existing Call for Innovations and creates an additional pathway for promising military and Veteran health projects to connect with the expertise, partners and resources needed for validation, demonstration and adoption. The partnership will provide a foundation for continued discussions on potential collaborative projects and practical ways to connect stakeholders across the ecosystem. Eligible Canadian SMEs and living environments, community-based organizations, and care and service providers (Community Lab) can collaborate, validate technologies in real-world settings and generate evidence to support their adoption.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

This collaboration provides an opportunity to connect our expertise more closely with military and Veteran health research, helping ensure that innovation reflects diverse experiences and real-world needs. By bringing together research, industry and community partners, we can explore how AgeTech solutions can benefit Veterans, their families and caregivers, while advancing our shared goal of supporting people to age well,\u201d said Bridgette Murphy, Chief Executive Officer of AGE-WELL.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The partnership also opens up new opportunities for Canadian innovators to connect promising AgeTech solutions with the needs of Veterans, older adults and caregivers. Through envisAGE\u2019s existing Call for Innovations, eligible Canadian SMEs and Community Labs can access opportunities to collaborate, validate technologies in real-world settings and generate evidence to support their adoption. By connecting CIMVHR\u2019s research expertise and networks with envisAGE\u2019s innovation ecosystem, the partners aim to identify new applications for Canadian technologies and accelerate their path toward meaningful impact.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Through this collaboration, MEDTEQ+ and CIMVHR aim to strengthen connections across research, health technology innovation and real-world practice, helping create opportunities for solutions that respond to the needs of Veterans, older adults, caregivers and the broader population.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
