About us?
MEDTEQ+, a leader in accelerating innovation and supporting entrepreneurs in the Canadian MedTech industry, and AGE-WELL, Canada’s leading research and innovation network in AgeTech, have joined forces as co-leads in envisAGE. This large-scale pan-Canadian five-year initiative brings stakeholders together to provide resources and support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to integrate technologies that address the challenges of aging and build Canadian leadership in the AgeTech market. The envisAGE initiative is funded through the Government of Canada’s Strategic Innovation Fund, with additional contributions from the Government of Quebec., industry, non-profits, and other partners.

Our values
Enhancing Canadian lives through collaboration
MEDTEQ+ and AGE-WELL are Canadian leaders in the health technology and aging innovation ecosystem. Long-time partners, our shared values and interests were further underscored by the recent pandemic, which had significant impact on older adults. Our mutual focus on longevity and the well-being of Canada’s aging population has catalyzed a broader exploration of how innovation and technology can support this societal issue. In response, MEDTEQ+ and AGE-WELL launched envisAGE in 2022, aimed at promoting quality aging across the country.
MEDTEQ+ is the pan-Canadian consortium for industrial research and innovation in medical technologies. Supported by the Government of Canada and the Government of Quebec, it supports the validation of these technologies, their integration into the health care system and their local and international outreach by bringing together the complementary skills of industrial partners, institutions, and health care providers.

As a dynamic pan-Canadian network with global reach, AGE-WELL has mobilized a vast community of researchers, older adults, caregivers, partner organizations, and future leaders to accelerate the delivery of technology-based solutions that make a meaningful difference in the lives of older Canadians and their caregivers. AGE-WELL serves as a catalyst for technological innovation that supports healthy aging while driving Canada’s growing AgeTech sector.

Why this project?
By 2035, Canada will be a “super-aged” country with more than 25% of its population over the age 65. An aging population is one of the greatest achievements, but also one of the greatest challenges of this century. Older adults want access to quality and equitable health care that is proactive in addressing their needs and enhances their ability to live an active and healthy life. We need innovative, tangible solutions to meet these needs.Technology has enormous potential for society as a whole.
AgeTech
Technological solutions known as AgeTech or aging technology include products, services, and practices that improve the daily lives of seniors and caregivers. They affect everything from housing and health care to autonomy, mobility, mental health, well-being, financial health, communication, and maintaining social connection.
