Community Labs are community organizations or other organizations that provide a real-world setting or services for older adults and caregivers. They are involved in the innovation process, highlight the needs expressed by their community, and have the interest and capacity to adopt innovative solutions.  

These organizations and environments include retirement homes, long-term care homes, NORCS (Naturally Occurring Retirement Communities), organizations providing services, programs or care, and communities of older adults and caregivers. 

Community Labs that participate in collaborative projects commit to fully integrating the innovative solution into their environment, share responsibility for project implementation and execution, and express an interest in acquiring the technology or helping the SME deploy the solution when agreed outcomes and successes are achieved.
