NOW OPEN: THE ENVISAGE NETWORK INTRODUCES A CONTINUOUS CALL FOR INNOVATIONS TO TRANSFORM AGING IN CANADA
With 25% of the population aged 65 and older by 2030, the envisAGE Network invites innovative Canadian SMEs and potential adopters such as living environments, community-based organizations, and care and service providers, to join forces to address the challenges of aging and improve the quality of life of older adults and caregivers.
Montreal, Quebec, September 24, 2026– As Canada’s population ages, the envisAGE Network, co-led by MEDTEQ+ and AGE-WELL, is introducing a rolling call for innovations with 3 submission cycles spread throughout the year: November 17, 2026, February 23, 2027, and June 1, 2027, rather than an annual cycle.
The call supports the implementation of innovative AgeTech solutions in real-world settings across Canada and is open to Canadian SMEs developing technologies for older adults and caregivers, as well as living environments, community-based organizations, and care and service providers (Community Lab), that wish to participate in the evaluation and integration of solutions designed to help people live well as they age.
“Canada has tremendous potential for innovation to address the challenges associated with an aging population. With this call, we aim to create more opportunities for coast-to-coast collaboration between innovators and living environments to transform promising solutions into tangible impacts for older adults, caregivers, and the organizations that support them,” said Annie-Kim Gilbert, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of MEDTEQ+.
“The impact that envisAGE projects are creating demonstrates the importance of connecting Canadian AgeTech innovations with adoption partners. The intake process for this call for innovations, combined with the envisAGE National Tour currently underway in Canada, presents a timely opportunity to accelerate the adoption of innovations that can improve the lives of older Canadians and caregivers across the country,” said Bridgette Murphy, Chief Executive Officer of AGE-WELL.
Thanks to this collaborative model, innovators have the opportunity to work directly with organizations that support older adults and caregivers to validate their technologies, generate evidence, and accelerate adoption. Living environments, community-based organizations, and care and service providers for their part, benefit from these technologies and actively shape solutions that address concrete needs. This work is supported by 10 centres of expertise (BeachcheadTM) and 6 Innovation Hubs.
Since its launch in 2023, envisAGE has already supported 55 collaborative projects, mobilizing 42 living environments, community-based organizations, and care and service providers (Community Lab) and 44 SMEs across the country. Together, these projects represent a projected total value of more than $79 million and have created and preserved over 200 jobs.
As the program approaches its final funding phase, interested organizations and SMEs are encouraged not to wait until the last deadline. The rolling application process allows organizations and SMEs to submit their Letter of Intent online This approach supports the development of projects that can move forward at the pace of collaboration and innovation.
The innovative solutions must address one or more of the following areas:
- Autonomy and Independence
- Cognitive Health and Dementia
- Healthy Lifestyles and Wellness
- Staying Connected
- Supportive Homes and Communities
- Health Care & Health Service Delivery
- Mobility & Transportation
- Financial Wellness & Employment
