Glenrose Hospital Foundation Joins envisAGE to Accelerate AgeTech Innovation and Adoption Nationwide
MONTREAL, March 24th 2026 – MEDTEQ+ and AGE-WELL are proud to announce that the Glenrose Hospital Foundation has joined the pan-Canadian envisAGE initiative as an Innovation Hub, strengthening national efforts to accelerate the development, adoption, and scaling of technological solutions for older adults and caregivers to promote quality aging.
As an Innovation Hub within the envisAGE network, the Foundation will support research and development, real-world testing, and the integration of technologies that enhance independence, active living, and quality of life for older adults.
Innovation Hubs are centres of innovation that bring together research, academic, and industry experts in aging and technology to contribute to projects that promote the advancement and adoption of innovative technologies. They are centres of expertise working in a key area that enables the scaling of AgeTech solutions in Canada. Their work is national in scope and contributes to envisAGE through the dissemination of best practices and knowledge to enrich the ecosystem.
The Glenrose Hospital Foundation, located in Edmonton, Alberta, supports one of Canada’s most advanced rehabilitation hospitals and is distinguished by its expertise in rehabilitation, mobility, and innovation in lifelong care. It encourages and propels initiatives that tangibly improve outcomes for people living with complex conditions, from childhood to advanced adulthood. Working closely with clinicians, researchers, industry partners, and community stakeholders, the Foundation contributes to the development and adoption of cutting-edge technologies and innovative care models that promote independence, mobility, and a better quality of life.
By leveraging its clinical excellence and strong culture of collaboration, the Glenrose Hospital Foundation will contribute its expertise to envisAGE collaborative projects involving small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), envisAGE Beachheads (centres that measure benefits and impacts in real-world settings), and Community Labs (organizations working directly with older adults and caregivers).
Innovation Hubs also play a leadership role in addressing complex, system-level challenges in AgeTech, such as scaling proven solutions, integrating technologies into clinical workflows, and accelerating adoption across health and community care systems. The ultimate goal is to bring impactful technologies to end users faster and more effectively.
The envisAGE initiative is funded through the Government of Canada’s Strategic Response Fund, with additional contributions from the Government of Quebec, industry, non-profits, and other partners.
